Taxicabs are not required to have Personal Injury Protection.  They are required to carry liability limits of  $125,000 per person, $250,000 per occurrence in bodily injury liability and $50,000 in property damage liability.
A commercial single limit policy may also be obtained in the amount of $300,000. Verification of this is required at when  the vehicle is registered. The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is notified by the insurance company  when the policy is cancelled.
